Welcome 2010 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yooooohooooooooo!!!!
Here's a song to kick start of the year- By Stefanie Sun
It is snowing in Manchester!!!! -- the heaviest snow that i've seen after 5 years living in this country.
Snow started falling yesterday evening. 7 inches of snow has accumulated this morning! It has never been snowing this much since 1981 as reported. Many cars were stuck at the bottom of the hill in some ares and many drivers were forced to abandon their cars and walk home. Flights are delayed or else cancelled. Trains and trams stopped running as the tracks are all covered in snow. UK has no back-up plans for heavy snow and this makes the situation worse. The roads are not properly graded, causes travel chaos.
Our 2nd term @ the final term of our Uni has just started yesterday. PL n i walked out of the house this morning, finding our feet buried in snow! It is so slippery to walk on the snow especially when it has been compacted by the cars, busses, bikes, pedestrians, cats, dogs, etc.. which turn the surfaces into water and then ice under the negative temperature.
I had a nightmare on my way towards our outreach centre yesterday, trying to keep myself in balance! Cass who works in the Manchester Royal Infirmary (MRI) has been telling us how the orthopedic departments are so busy these days.
PL just learn from her patient that it helps by landing on the heels (not tip-toeing), so we went on trying the trick this morning! Phoeh... after 23 years of up walking and running on the normal ground, now we all have to learn how to walk again!
The afternoon clinic was canceled and the whole University was closed due to the heavy snow! This has never ever happen in these 5 years! It was a remarkable news for us as i was dreading to attend my oral surgery session. MORE HOLIDAY!! Yeahhh!!!!
After a long session of completing 3 large composite fillings in the morning, PL, my sister and i went out to Kro2 for lunch. We manage to catch a breath-taking view by sitting beside the long stretched window. =D
A war started before we get home. PL n i became the victim as soon as we arrive Banff Road!! Snow balls came flying towards our direction and there's no where for us to hide. More than 10 people were attacking! =s. I bravely ran back to my house, chuck my bag, grab my keys, borrowed a pair of gloves, and out i went again!!!
~~~~MY TURN TO ATTACK!~~~
Grabbing the snow from the roof of the cars and using the cars as our shield! Luckily none of the alarms went off as the snowballs are quite solid. Honestly, it does hurt to get hit by the balls!
The fight ended after an hour. Everyone was soaked and frozen.
Kinda wish the snow will stay on tomorrow. Another snow fight awaiting.... ^^
p/s: just received a notice -- uni is canceled for tomorrow too!!!!
~~HURRAAAAAAAY!!!~~
Another late night,
another sleep-in,
another free day!!! ^^
