The Best Surprise

My weekend started with Mo's birthday celebration on Friday night. Dinner in a fairly new Indian restaurant-Zouk was great. It has been more than 4 years that we've been hanging out together but i still feel that i haven't known enough of him to write him a great birthday wish.. shame of me.. However, a night of chilling out in Abdullah's place allowed me to see the more 'fun' side of him. Mo's 'heroic' legend of how he was trying to escape from Dr Lay's sight and how he manage to offend our Prof Devlin by addressing him as "Mr" & calling him a 'WHATEVER' right in front of the UNPREDICTABLE beast cracked us all up!!

Our day trip to Birmingham was very short. Pin and i went down to pay Shin and her mum a visit. We spent nearly 3 hrs in the BDSA conference but no regrets. It was an eyeopener to her and hopefully she did get to understand dentistry a little bit more. We manage to have some free ice-creams and smoothies in the conference, not forgetting the freebies!! We had a good time meeting our far relatives and it did make me feel a lot warmer especially in winter time. Birmingham was packed with people as everyone is expecting the lighting ceremony (an event to switch the Christmas lights on). A few well-known singers and bands including JLS are suppose to be there. Birmingham's Christmas market is awesome! We had loads of sweets and food!

Highlight of the day-- An unexpected meeting with Chun Yip & Derek! Was so so so so shock when i bumped into them in the well-known M'sian restaurant in Birm!! Havent met Chun Yip since we graduated from IS whereas it has been 2 years since i've met Derek! They are both working in different places and were there in Birmingham to meet up with another friend. We were all there due to the same purpose --> FOOD!!!!! Birm owns the BEST M'SIAN RESTAURANT! =D. It was a short meeting and we hardly have enough time to catch up. However it is the best surprise after a long while.. I am happy that everyone is doing great.

Enn Swan & Kevin came over for a potluck. We had a long chat after our dinner until grandpa finally usher me to bed. It was only 11pm! Grandpa & Danny even bribed me with a bubble tea just to make me go to bed earlier =p
It feels like home where daddy often have some patients/friends visiting right after dinner for consultation and then stayed for ages, chit chat about nothing important, but in the end, everyone left and went to bed, tired but happy. It's probably the way of how most M'sian spend their time in the evening bonding with friends and family...

Well.. lights off time!

Good night Yeye & Danny & Stitch Alien ! ^^

It was a very fulfilling weekend!

Best Wishes

Spotted these cards lying on top of the broken radiator in my room this morning and went on reading them.

These are the best wishes that make me laugh my head off in the early morning, warmed my heart in the early winter, and reminded me of my lovely friends that have scattered in different areas in UK and in the other end of the world.

Rach's message reminded me of Paran's card.. hahhahh..

'Peaceful' Weekend

Was just thinking that i can finally have a peaceful weekend, but another accident just happened! 5 mins ago.....

Wanted to have something simple for breakfast so i went on boiling myself a pot of conge thinking that i can have a warm liquid rice with my "bak hu" that I've brought from home..

My housemate (KL) has been nagging and kept reminding me to keep an eye on the fire.

Was checking something online when KL smelt 'toast' from his room. He ran out n shouted. It was too late when we rumbled down the stairs.. The whole house is smoky...

My breakfast is burnt..

AGAIN! ><

The smoky room - Much better after we opened the backdoor

It has been awarded the title:

~~~~~ Worst Burnt Ever ~~~~~~
by Ms Dai Tao Har... =S
The lucky thing is.....
Our house is still
SAFE!
Bits and Pieces
5th yr is STRESSFUL!!!
Have been ultimately busy since uni re-started. Although my schedule is not as pack as the other students (phewwwwww..), having 2 days off in the first 2 weeks is lucky enough, I am still finding myself running out of time. Most time is wasted in waiting for the tutors, waiting for the patients, waiting for the lab works…
Patients cancellation is stressful as everybody is under the pressure of finishing all our final year cases before Easter. On top of that, we all need to share our sessions between our partners. We have limited clinical time to complete our treatments and many circumstances are beyond our control. How I wish if we can bring our patients home, get them treated, just like getting our homework done before going to bed, however dentistry doesn’t work that way. There is nothing that we can do other than planning the treatments well during our ‘free’ time, and praying very very very hard that our patients will be good, turning up to all their allocated sessions, also that there’s no emergency cases such as fallen crowns/bridges/fillings that we’ve to waste few more hours to get them sorted.
The internet at home is not helping at all. It disconnects every minute and we cant get anything loaded smoothly. Appearing 'online' on msn is embarrassing as we kept popping out on the others' notice @ the frequency of 30 times per minute... On the other hand, it gives us time to bond with our new housemates.
2 days of continuous patients’ cancellation is driving me crazy. A night out to Revolution on Wednesday has sacrificed my sleeping hours. Was already looking like a zombie the next morning, however in the afternoon I texted my housemate suggesting that we shall go on a shopping spree! He must have thought that I am joking but NO, I WASN'T. PL n I hopped onto the 250 bus right after our clinic, went to Trafford Centre, had a big meal. Still not feeling satisfied, we walked to the Krispy Kreme 2 miles away and bought 2 DOZENS of DOUGHNUTS!!!!
A phone call to Ming Yu made him the innocent victim. Well, he did make our day, giving our laughterssss back.
Many thanks to MING YU-- our doughnut supplier!!! ^^
Another patients’ DNA brought us to Kro 2 this afternoon.
ANOTHER BIG FAT MEAL!!!
Swear that we gunna be so fat and super broke by the end of the year if it goes on like this……. ><
At the positive point of view, I’m officially in my FINAL YEAR and I am still enjoying my course!!
Our weekends are fully occupied too. Tom and his friends came all the way from London to celebrate his birthday in Manchester last week.
Tomorrow will be an escape-day from Manchester, visiting a nearby town called Todmorden, which is just 30mins train from this busy city.
Next week will be ALTON TOWERS!!!!!!!!!! Hurraaaaaaaaaay!!!
Have been longing to go on the roller coasters and other rides again with friends, shout my lungs out, stroll along the autumn woods, and forget everything about Manchester!!! Yi Pin will be joining us this time. Yay!!!
The Home That I've Lost
忙碌的生活,对未来的追求,加上许多的新事物,已让我把好多珍贵的回忆压在心里的最深处,挖也挖不出来。
朋友寄来的照片,顿时唤醒了我在这几年来遗失了的记忆。让我感受到满满的幸福。
神山-沙巴州的landmark. 它虽然离我们不近,但从 KK 市区的很多角落都能看见神山雄伟地立着。
每次到爸爸工作的小市镇去玩, 都会经过这个市庙。 忘了它叫什么名。。
斗亚兰著名的Tuaran面!只有在亚比能找得到。 上一年竟在 Birmingham 发现它,不可思议。
To me, this is one of the few most meaningful photo. 几年前离开沙巴时,我发誓要把这个景观永远深烙在记忆里。--神山静静地座在黄禄色的稻米海背后。
朋友居然也把这一幕也给拍下了。。。
Kundasang 之花景。and the biggest flower in the world - Rafflesia
Karam Bunei and the long stretched white sandy beach。
Thought i've burried the few crabs that i've mistakenly stepped on while playing a 'police and the thief' game...
obvoiusly... they didnt rest in peace!
Yayasan Sabah - the tallest building in Sabah!! Wait.. ehhmm.. issit still the tallest?
小时候无聊时的消遣之一
中学的麻吉。。。和古灵精怪的 Cikgu Ooi
A million thanks to piggy for bringing back all these precious memories,allowing me recall the warmth of home and friendships ^^
朱仔加油啦!
